Workforce Program Manager
Minnesota ForestryWorks
MFW is seeking a Program Manager to implement the ForestryWorks Program in Minnesota.
Responsibilities:
Management
- Develop relationships with key industry contacts and other forestry organizations to facilitate the goals of ForestryWorks and other workforce development efforts.
- Act as designated industry contact for statewide operations.
- Oversee all day-to-day tasks associated with workforce development.
- Maintain working relationships and communications with ForestryWorks headquarters team, including providing yearly reports and attending planning meetings as needed.
- Maintain Minnesota ForestryWorks Jobs Board.
- Market ForestryWorks resources internally to forest industry employers.
Financial
- Create a marketing packet to be used for fundraising.
- Seek additional funding sources for the program.
- Manage the budget, grant funds and reporting.
Outreach
- Design Minnesota-specific branded content for use in marketing, recruitment, and informational campaigns.
- Direct ForestryWorks marketing and public relations efforts including:
- Recruitment Campaign
- General Forestry Careers Promotion
- Special Groups Outreach – Truck driver recruitment, tribal outreach, etc.
- General Program Awareness
- Recruit and manage industry contacts to do presentations in schools around the state.
- Work with Community College System to develop training programs that meet the needs of the forest industry.
- Organize, plan and attend statewide career fairs, forestry field days, educator training, workshops and other outreach events, including necessary logistics.
- Identify additional training opportunities for students.
- All other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Knowledge and experience with workforce development, the forest products industry, high school curricula, human resources and skills training preferred.
Additional Skills / Abilities:
- This is a new endeavor and requires someone who can build a program from the ground up with little supervision.
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and drive efforts.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey messages clearly.
- Strong financial management, grant procurement/management and budget experience and skills.
- High level of integrity and personal code of ethics
- Ability to think strategically to ensure short- and long-term success of the organization.
Compensation
- Salary Range $60,000 - $70-000 DOE
